Description of Environmental Issue
Climate Change is the most significant issue facing the world today. Climate Change has many impacts, most especially its effect on changing weather patterns. Whilst there are many weather patterns which are changing, one of the most significant in the Far North Queensland region is the increasing frequency and intensity of cyclone activity. These damaging cyclones have a devastating impact on several ecosystems including two ecosystems which I believe have been effected the most dramatically from cyclones: the Coastal Rainforest of the Daintree, and the Coral Reef Intertidal Zone on Frankland Island.
To understand the impact of climate change on both the Daintree Coastal Rainforest and the Frankland Island Coral Reef Intertidal Zone, you need to understand both how climate change effects weather patterns, as well as how cyclones are formed.
